TACS TIME AND ATTENDANCE CLERK, PS-05
FUNCTIONAL PURPOSE
Monitors TACS user inputs to ensure compliance with time and attendance
regulations; resolves any incorrect time entries with the appropriate
supervisor and initiates payroll adjustments as needed; maintains employee
master file records; provides assistance to local TACS users on TAGS
application and system requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Reviews TACS reports of user inputs to ensure compliance with time
and attendance regulations; assists supervisors in resolving incorrect
time entrie and preparing payroll adjustments as needed. May review
rural timecard information for accuracy and enter data into appropriate
system. Maintains the employee master tile, adding and deleting employees,
creating temporary assignments, changing permanent assignments, and
resolving discrepancies between systems.
2. Reviews reports to ensure that all offices
within the performance cluster have correctly submitted all time and
attendance data, and that all employees are in a ready status each week
and takes appropriate action when necessary.
3. May transfer hours as necessary to ensure time is recorded to correct
finance numbers and LDCs; accurately records and transmits time from
remote offices using other systems, when necessary; provides TACS work
hour data to external
interfaces, as needed. Maintains required files for timekeeping documents.
4. Receives and answers questions from TACS users on payroll and timekeeping
regulations; serves as liaison with personnel and finance offices on
more complex user questions. Provides guidance to local users on TACS
application; assists users in resolving simple system problems and escalates
more complex problems to supervisor, Information Systems, or Customer
Support as appropriate.
5. Creates and assigns badges; assists supervisors with badge control.
6. In addition, may perform other job related duties as needed, including:
compile records and prepare reports on such subjects as work hours and
units of work, distribute mail of the office in which employed, and
file correspondence of the office.
